Pain can make a person feel uncomfortable, especially if it persists for a long time. It can disrupt daily activities and even lead to emotional distress and depression. To meet the needs of the community in addressing pain-related issues, RSPIK has established a Pain Clinic. To introduce this service, a seminar on the topic of "Current Pain Management Interventions" was held, presented by Dr. Dedy, an Anesthesiologist with a sub-specialty in pain management.
The seminar took place at the RSPIK Auditorium on November 25th, 2022. Dr. Dedy, Sp. An, FIP explained that acute and chronic pain can be managed with appropriate pain management techniques, including pain-free surgery. This treatment is suitable for patients who cannot undergo surgery due to physical conditions. The Pain Clinic can manage various types of pain, such as back pain, neck pain, headache, and knee pain.
Before the seminar, the event began with a healthy exercise session and ended with entertainment from communities and a lunch gathering. It is hoped that through this event, the community can become aware of the pain management facilities available to help them achieve optimal quality of life.
